Creating a soccer scoreboard

Creating a good looking, real-time, scoreboard to share with your friends and fans is very easy with Live Tally.

Creating the board

To get started go to "My Boards", and click "Create Board".

From here you select Soccer

Once done you get taken to your new scoreboard

Customizing the board

At the moment the board is pretty boring, but we can customize most things about it:

  • Team name,

  • Team logo,

  • Colors for team, score, and overall background

  • Layouts (top to bottom, vs side by side teams.

  • etc.

Team name and logo

To customize the team name and logo click on the team name. This will show a dialog with those options:

Other options

Under the board name there are 3 tabs: Soccer, Templates, and Appearance. From here you can find configuration options for things like text and background colors of different elements, changing the font and changing the background image.

Using the board

You've got the board looking how you want it, now it's time to actually use it.

Updating the score

Next to each team name is a "+1" button. Clicking on this will add a goal to that team's score. Note: This will also immediately update it for any devices looking at this score.

Correcting the score

If you accidentally add too many goals to one side you can correct this easily. Just click the "Show negative option" above the "+1" button - this will show a "-1" button that you can use to take the accidental goal away.

Timer & Period

You can optionally show a timer along with the current period / half on the scoreboard. You can customize the duration (for example for a kids match) by clicking on the "Timer" label on the widget.

Sharing the board

Next to the name of the board is a Share button.

Clicking on that will show two views you can choose between:

  • Standard View: This will give you a link to a page which just shows you what you can see in your preview window at the top of the page.

  • Streamer View: This is the same as the standard view except that the background is removed. Tools like OBS and Stream Labs let you include a web view as part of your stream. This makes including a scoreboard as easy as pasting a URL into your streaming tool.

You can use both views at the same time which makes it easier to share to different audiences at the same time.
